scarecrow

seeing all the halloween decorations today reminded me of my early days as a trick or treater and one house in particular. in the beginning of october they set up a scarecrow like this one on their porch, i got used to it sitting there everyday as i walked by the house on my way to school. finally when the big night rolled around i didn't think twice about the straw stuffed scarecrow as i climbed the porch steps. as i reached out to ring the doorbell the scarecrow got out of it's chair where it sat lifeless and came towards me. it's pretty amusing thinking about it now, but at seven not so funny................
